Introduction to Personality Disorders

Personality Disorders (PDs) are a group of diagnoses in the DSM and the ICD. This website covers the PD diagnoses in the current editions of the DSM (DSM-5-TR) and the ICD (ICD-11), focusing on the DSM versions.

Each PD section gives a prototypic description (see below), the characteristics of that PD, a comparison of a personality style vs a personality disorder, the subtypes of that PD, what it's commonly comorbid with and confused with, and resources and FAQs for that PD.

None of this information was written by me - it's all taken from various books and such (see the references section), I just rewrote it to be less ableist and more clear.
